Join us for an amazing adventure day in the Mae Wang region, south west of the city. Experience lush jungle, Karen hill tribe villages, refreshing waterfalls and the Mae Wang river.

Outline program

Depart Chiang Mai and travel by covered pickup truck to the start of the trek, driving south west for approximately one hour. Arrive at the starting point, a coffee shop where you'll meet your guide, and begin your adventure.  Hike along one of numerous available routes using local trails that can vary depending on the conditions of the day. First stop is at a stunning waterfall where we can have a break. Hike further to reach the Karen village where you'll learn more about their culture and traditions. Enjoy a delicious packed lunch of Thai food with fresh fruits.  Continue your trek through mostly farm land to meet our driver. A last stop is made at the Mae Wang river side to relax and refresh (particularly great for kids and during the hot season).

Drive back to Chiang Mai for an approximate arrival time in the city at 17:00 and drop off at your hotel or airport/train.

General notes

• This tour involves 4 to 5 kilometers of hiking on undulating landscape. Moderate level.
• Suitable for participants in good physical condition.
• Bring a comfortable day-pack, and wear suitable hiking shoes. Sunglasses, a hat, insect repellent and sunscreen. Weather-appropriate clothing according to the season, as rain jacket and a fleece.  
• Great trip during rainy season with lush jungle as well as refreshing during hot season.
