TRIP OUTLINE
The itinerary for this adventure-packed trek is designed to cater to both comfort and challenge, ensuring a memorable experience for all participants. On the first night, you will rest at a cozy hotel, providing a comfortable respite. The subsequent night will be spent at a private home-stay, offering basic comforts amidst a local setting.
The trek kicks off with a warm-up hike on the initial day, serving as an introduction to the climate and jungle environment. As you progress to the second and third days, expect more daring expeditions as we navigate the rugged mountain slopes and settle in for a night at a local home-stay nestled in the highlands at an elevation of 1000 meters.
While this adventure is considered somewhat challenging, it is well-suited for families with children possessing hiking experience. Participants seeking thrills, breathtaking natural scenery, panoramic vistas, and enriching cultural encounters will find this meticulously organized trek to be a gratifying and unforgettable journey.

PROGRAM
Day 1: jungle hike and Sticky Waterfall visit
From Chiang Mai city, we transport you to the captivating Mae Taeng valley. Here, immerse yourself in a guided two-hour jungle hike through the lush forest, accompanied by an insightful guide who will share the mysteries and wonders of the jungle with you. Depending on the season and selected trails, enjoy a packed lunch amidst the serene surroundings before we venture to the enchanting waterfalls.
Our next destination is the Buatong waterfall, also known as "the sticky waterfall," where you can marvel at the unique limestone deposits on the riverbed that allow for a one-of-a-kind climbing experience underneath the cascading waters. Following this exhilarating escapade, a brief drive will lead us to a charming boutique hotel, where you can check-in and unwind in comfort and style.
Time at leisure. Tonight enjoy a set dinner of northern specialties.

Day 2: Hiking the Tea trails
Indulge in a delightful breakfast amidst the serene garden setting as we gear up for an unforgettable hike. Our journey begins with a short transfer at 9am to the trailhead, where we will set off on a challenging ascent towards a mountain-top village. During the 3-hour hike, you will witness a striking transformation in the surrounding flora. Upon reaching the mountain village - our first stop and lunch spot - take the opportunity to explore the local community, including a visit to the village school. Stroll through picturesque tea plantations shaded by towering trees as you continue your trek towards the local home-stay that will be our resting place for the night. Your knowledgeable guides will prepare a delectable Thai dinner, before you unwind for the evening, savoring the tranquil ambiance of the surroundings.
Today’s hike is approximately 4 hours, mostly ascending. (The trek starting point is 400m alt. and the overnight is 1000m alt.)

DAY 3: Trek and transfer back to Chiang Mai
As the morning light filters through the mountain landscape, wake up to the harmonious melodies of the mountains and relish a hearty breakfast featuring locally grown tea or coffee sourced from the neighboring plantations. Brace yourself for an invigorating morning filled with challenges as we traverse through an array of forestry trails. Our journey will lead us along mountain ridges beneath the dense jungle canopy, with intermittent clearings offering awe-inspiring panoramic vistas of the sprawling lower valley.
Amidst this exhilarating trek, we will pause to refuel with a packed lunch enjoyed amidst the tranquility of the trail or, alternatively, at a local eatery, depending on the pace of our adventure. As we descend the valley, you may opt for a final stop to marvel at the magnificent Wat Ban Den temple, enveloped in serene beauty and cultural richness.
Conclude our expedition with a leisurely drive back to Chiang Mai, which spans approximately one hour, as we bid farewell at your accommodation or the airport.

Yes, we do provide sleeping bags and/or blankets, small pillows, and you'll sleep under mosquito nets. It's fairly rustic accommodation to any western standards. Bathrooms are outside the main house and there is no hot water. Please bring your own towel (synthetic fabric towels). It's definitely an amazing experience.
Yes, during the cold season (November to end of February) nights can get chilli in altitude. Bring a fleece and some long pants for the night. A full packing list and season information will be sent to you after your trip registration.
Snakes encounter: this could happen. We had a few clients that spotted snakes in the past, and the most impressive was a 2 meters long King Cobra. It's a jungle out there! Your guide will certainly spot the snake, leading the way, and will give you all the recommendation needed.
Trekking poles. You can bring your own, but we do have some poles available for participants to borrow. Ask your guide at the end of the first day.
